At Shakkei it has always been our priority to be forward-thinking. In the past few weeks we have been working on the new collection with a technical approach: among other things, we built a pen plotter that writes messages on our display windows, we worked a lot on the technical implementation of our textile patterns inspired by Hilmar af Klint and continued working on our jersey crash technique.
The new collection focuses on typical Shakkei dresses, skirts and cozy, warm coats. Classic Shakkei pieces are complimented by the graphic processing of our art-inspired recycled fabrics, patched together in shades of blue, luxury leisurewear jackets made from jersey crash, new T-shirt prints and cleverly developed cuts.
A design installation that aims to point out the waste from clothing production adorns the ceiling. Instead of simply throwing away this waste, we give it a second life and literally celebrate it as high art.
